The Accordion Ensemble Leipzig Music School was formed in 1999 and currently consists of nine players aged between 16 and 28 years. The ensemble performs a wide range of music, from classical to klezmer. Conductor Valeri Funkner has successfully led the ensemble onto several tours, such as the World Music Festival 2013 in Innsbruck and a tour to Syria in 2011.
London Intermediate Accordion Orchestra (LIAO) was formed in 2014. It has around 20 players and is the 'little brother' to the London Accordion Orchestra, which has 40 players and performs all over Europe. LIAO performs original music for accordion orchestra as well as arrangements of pieces written for other instruments. Both of our orchestras have the goal of widening appreciation of this wonderful instrument and LIAO in particular encourages children to participate and experience the joy of playing music with other people.

I was very pleased to come across your two podcasts today. Well done, Sam Cullen. I liked the way each opened with that extract of the orchestra at full blast. This makes a good opening impression... maybe retain it as your signature tune? Or something similar.... when you all play tutti frutti, the sound is unique!
I was also very pleased that I could get these podcasts without installing any Apple bloatware (I-Tunes). Simply by googling the actual titles, I found them both at something called Player FM, and was able to listen live or download them.
***New LAO Podcast***

The orchestra flew home from Slovenia last night after an unforgettable weekend. The concert in the Philharmonic Hall, Ljubljana, was spectacular and warmly received by a very enthusiastic audience. We were joined on stage by percussion ensemble Slovenski Tolkalni Projekt, a fantastic group of musicians who we are pleased to say will be joining us in London for a joint concert in Spring 2019. Thanks to the British Embassy Ljubljana and the Embassy of Slovenia, London for their help and support. Also thanks to Dejan Tamše and Valentina Rupel for helping to organise the tour. Slovenia is such a beautiful country, we hope to be able to return one day!
Concert tomorrow in the Philharmonic Hall, Ljubljana, but today was all about fun! Team LAO explore Slovenia...
